Wow! A remote controlled Saab 9-3 Sport Combi. A 1:20 scale model of the real thing with exquisite detailing right down to the Saab Griffin emblems on the bonnet, boot and wheel centres. The detailing on this car is actually very good and faithful to the full size car.
I received my remote controlled Saab 9-3 Sport Combi from Elkparts yesterday. I was not able to find any batteries so popped out to buy some new ones today. Had them inserted in minutes and was up and running with this car. The turn of speed that it has is quite astonishing. I am now in need of some fusion blue touch-up paint having managed to scrape both front and rear bumpers against the a door frame within 60 seconds of swtching the thing on.
The remote controlled Saab Sport Combi is supplied in a large black box with clear plastic front/top. Inside the box you will find the remote controller and an extendable metal antenna that screws into the top of the remote controller. Along with the car itself you will find an instruction manual.
The remote controller takes 1x PP3 size 9-volt battery and the car takes 4x AA size 1.5-volt batteries. Note, you'll need a Phillips screwdriver to loosen the screws that hold the battery covers on both the remote controller and the car itself. This is no hardship, batteries can be installed within minutes.
This interesting thing about this car is that there are three adjustable frequencies that means you and your friends can get together to race three of the cars together. Given my experience in the hallway I would recommend that you find a large indoor or outdoor area to do this. In the first few minutes that I was racing the Sport Combi around I found that it was not only fast, it was powerful enough to climb over the edge of a thick-pile rug from the wooden floor and continue its progress across the carpet.
Having bought the remote controlled Saab 9-3 Viggen, about five years ago, I can report that the Sport Combi is faster, more powerful and superior to the old model that was, in reality, quite sluggish.
